Hey - it's been a while - life has been insane lately so I haven't even had time to lurk, let alone post. But I hope you are all doing well.
I have a request and this is the only place I can think of to turn to after my Google-fu has failed me. I was having a discussion with a girl about Camaros and we were debating the various model years. She told me that her uncle has one from the 80s with pop up headlights, I told her either is was a 67-69 RS with the hidden headlights or she was thinking of a Firebird. She told me no, it's definitely a Camaro, but then told me that she grew up in the Bahamas originally. Can anyone validate? Would a Camaro from there have pop up headlights? Did GM do a body style switcheroo perhaps (sell 80's Firebirds as Camaros there)? This is really going go bug the hell out of me until I figure it out.

What I've always known: In the US, pop ups were only 67-69 RS cars. Firebirds/trans ams were the only F-bodies to come with pop-ups post 69.
I have no clue what she is talking about. You could show her pictures of the different cars, put that smartphone to use.

I tried showing her different stuff - shes keeps saying "No, I know it's a Camaro, I'm positive." But I showed her an 80's Firebird and she thinks it looks like that. So I'm thinking either:
A) GM sold Firebirds there but badged them as Chevrolet Camaros (maybe that subtle body style differences were more appealing in that country but Pontiac wasn't a thing there or something?)
B) She's an idiot and it was just a Firebird.

C) Because of the interchangeability of parts, they swapped a Firebird front end onto the Camaro.
D) Because C), someone installed a Camaro dashboard into the Firebird.
E) Joke option Spiegel.
